CREATIVITY THAT BRINGS PEACE
Hello!
Hey everyone! My name is Sarah Giokabari and I am so glad you are here. I am the founder of Alaáfiá which is a creative outlet and business, designed to bring you reminders of God’s peace and joy. I am also a qualified teacher and I have always enjoyed creating. Sadly, I stopped drawing after sixth-form, having allowed negative comments to get to me. The fact that I am creating again and sharing what I produce with the world is a result of God’s grace, as well as His ability to bring peace and healing. Art used to be a place of peace for me, that peace crumbled but now, through God, it is one of the ways He brings me peace again and I desire the same for you.
What does Alaáfiá mean?
In Yorùbá́ (a Nigerian language), Alaáfiá is ‘the phenomenon of peace, at both the individual and social levels, incorporating the notions of ìrẹ́pọ̀ (harmony) and ìsọ̀kan (unity) among humans in society’ and also between humans and God.
What is Alaáfiá?
Alaáfiá is a creative space. Under the banner of Alaáfiá ltd, (www.alaafia.co.uk) you will find:
- Heart-felt blog posts.
- Illustrations.
- Resources to aid bible studies.
- Stationery.
- Lettering.
- A place to request commissions.

Expansion and efficiency!
The desire is to see Alaáfiá grow in productivity and reach, through attaining better resources and being able to adopt better practices.
Also, at present all of the content seen, from the logo to the blog posts, has been created by me. It is not my desire for it to stay like this. I have plans to widen the team in the future, so that we can all benefit from the creativity God has given to others.
Where will your money go?
Since launching in 2019 Alaáfiá has always operated through using personal finances. However, I moved just before lockdown and lost the ability to continue to fund it in this way. In addition to this, in the last few months Alaáfiá has begun to grow and I would like to be available and put all my efforts into seeing it expand.
The money raised here will help in so many ways. I have listed what I will be able to do as a result of your generosity below:
- Maintain the website and provide a place to build a community of peacemakers.
- Spread the word and hopefully bring a glimpse of peace to more people.
- Purchase the tools needed to produce high quality prints. Namely an art printer and a laptop built with creative purposes in mind.
- Support other UK businesses by sourcing and purchasing high quality clothing for the clothing line.
- Source the highest quality art materials to produce commissions and personalised orders to perfection.
- Produce high quality journals and other stationery.
