The aim of our project is to ultimately improve our facilities for members new and old as well as visitors and the wider community.
Aigburth Cricket Club was formed in 1888 at our home and present location of Southwood Road in the St Michaels area of Aigburth and currently plays in the Southport and District Amateur Cricket League (SADACL).

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on sporting communities across the country and ACC has been no exception. As a result of restrictions, 2020 has been a tough year financially for our club.
Along with the pressures of the pandemic our club was also under great strain and added pressure, with the imminent threat of not being able to renew our lease at the end of 2021.
After a lengthy and drawn out process together with the amazing work of the club committee and members, a new lease was signed at the eleventh hour, with just 2 days remaining of the old lease, securing the future of the club. However, these added pressures had a huge impact on the club and grounds with our facilities and up keep of the ground having been somewhat largely affected.

Groundsman Equipment:
A major priority is securing a new cylinder wicket mower. Our current mower is older than our groundsman and is very temperamental and dangerous. The evident financial shortfalls threaten our ability to fund a replacement for the up and coming season and a new mower would have major benefits to our playing surfaces.

Ground maintenance Equipment:
We are also in desperate need of ground maintenance equipment to initially clear and then keep on top of overgrown areas of the ground, which have become overgrown and out of control over the last couple of years as a result of the pandemic. These areas are now becoming more dangerous, especially as many children and families use these facilities in summer months, as well as local schools. For this we would ideally require a Brush mower and industrial Strimmer and Trimmer to clear such areas and then to maintain once cleared.

Training Facilities:
We would like to invest further in our training equipment by purchasing a mobile cricket net cage. Again our existing net cage is no longer fit for purpose and without this we are unable to properly hold training sessions.
Obtaining a new net cage would have great impact on our ability not only hold regular training sessions and provide physical activity, but to also attract new players to our club.

With your help and the future of the club now secure, we can start to look forward and focus on the future by providing competitive cricket and a community hub for existing and new members as well as the wider community, in a friendly and welcoming environment.

Thank You!
