In 2015 Aid2Gambia staff decided to fundraise to buy ambulances to drive to The Gambia from Nottingham having seen the need for such vehicles.
In January 2017 2 vehicles arrived in The Gambia having driven from Nottingham a total of 3930 miles in 11 days.
These vehicles were based at local clinics one at Farato and one up river at Kani Kunda and already lives have been saved by their availability.
Such is the need that we intend to do the same again our aim. 3 Ambulances Nottingham to The Gambia.
Drive date est 3rd November 2019. So far we have 2 vehicles which a local college will be taking under their wings to help prepare them.
All vehicles have to be mechanically prepared and insured before departure.
With Ferry crossings border fees insurance fuel etc we need to raise £1 per mile per vehicle.
All participants in the drive will be making a financial contribution to the trip and will pay their own way.
We have No CEO pay no wages or renumeration.
