Aim

We are seeking funding to help AICE.scot take the next step in its journey by becoming a registered charity and establishing the foundations

Education is changing rapidly. Artificial Intelligence is already influencing how children and young people learn, how teachers teach, and how schools assess achievement. While these developments bring exciting opportunities, they also raise significant questions around ethics, equity, trust, assessment, safeguarding and educational integrity.

AICE.scot exists to ensure that Scotland's response to AI in education is led by educators.

We are building Scotland's national community of educators, school leaders, researchers and innovators who are working together ethically, collaboratively and with integrity to safeguard learning, teaching and assessment in the age of AI. Rather than allowing decisions about educational AI to be driven solely by commercial interests or external organisations, AICE.scot creates a space where those working directly with learners can shape the future together.

Why we need your support

We are seeking funding to help AICE.scot take the next step in its journey by becoming a registered charity and establishing the foundations needed to operate sustainably over the coming year.

Your support will help us:

• Complete the legal and governance processes required for charitable status.
• Create a sustainable and transparent organisational structure.
• Deliver collaborative events, workshops and professional learning opportunities.
• Bring together educators, researchers and innovators from across Scotland.
• Develop practical guidance, resources and research that support the ethical use of AI in education.
• Ensure educators have a strong, independent voice in national conversations about AI and learning.
• Support the operational costs required to build and maintain a thriving national community.

A community-led approach

AICE.scot is different because it is built on genuine collaboration. We are not a short-term project, consultancy or commercial initiative. We are creating a long-term community where practitioners, academics and innovators work alongside one another to share learning, test ideas and develop solutions that benefit Scotland's learners.

Every contribution, regardless of size, helps us strengthen this community and ensure that educational decisions about AI remain rooted in the values of inclusion, integrity, evidence and public benefit.

We believe that educators should help shape the future of AI in education, not simply react to it.
