A Guide To Making Friends - End of Uni Short Film.
After the passing of his mum Bailey Wilson finds himself stuck and alone living in the middle of the Outback. After comically failing in social situations he decided to end it all.
Meanwhile a witty, tough convict unknowingly interrupts Bailey after he escapes custody and takes Bailey hostage in his own home.
Galon Michna (The Convict) says he'll only hide out for "3 days max" but a month later the pair are playing house and getting quite close.
This is short lived and all blown apart as it ends in a dramatic final showdown.
Why this story matters:
Films nowadays are quite serious and dramatic and we are missing what's good in life and that sometimes good things happen to good people.
This film aims to break down the blurred concept of masculinity, show there are different types that highlight the best aspects of being human.
We have a social awkward recluse that becomes mates with a convicted felon, two sides of a spectrum that shouldn't work on paper, but do.
Our Vision:
This film although touching on some serious topics has the bones of a comedy with exaggerated characters and physical and verbal jokes that take our characters extreme circumstances and make them easily digestible for a viewing audience.
What I'm imagining Bailey and Galon to look like:
