Aim
After the cameras go home, the people living along the Trisuli in Nepal will be left to find a way to cope - we will be there to help.
The heartbreaking stories coming out of Nepal following the recent floods have been inescapable. What they don't show is the extent of the disaster downstream, or that damage to roads and bridges has cut communities off from aid. We are in touch with colleagues on the ground working alongside the army and police, and we can send funds for immediate use where needed. The greatest challenge is what happens next: once the images disappear from our screens, the donations will dry up; recovery is when our help is essential, and people’s donations will make a meaningful difference. Using our experience and intimate knowledge of the area, we will be concentrating our efforts on community recovery. Working directly with local government and the villagers themselves, we can be certain that every pound donated goes straight to where it’s needed.
