En las montañas de Ourense, Galicia, seguimos a Manolo, uno de los últimos “transhumantes.” Su sabiduría es inmensa: conoce la tierra y a sus animales de una manera que escapa a nuestro entendimiento. En gallego, hablará con la voz del tiempo y de la tierra, mientras lucha por mantener viva una forma de vida que desaparece tras los recientes incendios.
About the Film
In the mountains of Ourense, Galicia, we follow Manolo, one of the last “transhumantes.” His wisdom is immeasurable: he knows the land and his animals in ways that escape our understanding. Speaking in Galician, his voice carries the echoes of time and the land itself, as he struggles to hold on to a vanishing way of life after the recent wildfires.

Why This Film Matters
The wildfires in Galicia are not just natural disasters. They are reshaping rural life, erasing traditions, and putting enormous pressure on those who live most sustainably. This film is both testimony and warning: a portrait of Manolo’s fight and of the human costs of fire in a changing climate.
Una Declaración Política
Este documental es también una declaración política. Queremos amplificar las voces del mundo rural para ayudar a cambiar esta triste realidad y, al mismo tiempo, crear un testimonio histórico de los últimos trashumantes. La desaparición de esta forma de vida no es inevitable: es el resultado de abandono, falta de apoyo y políticas que no protegen a quienes más cuidan la tierra.
A Political Statement
This documentary is also a political statement. We want to amplify the voices of the rural world to help change this very sad reality and, at the same time, create a historical record of the last transhumantes. The disappearance of this way of life is not inevitable: it is the result of neglect, lack of support, and policies that fail to protect those who care for the land the most.
Uso de los Fondos
-Con £550: cubrimos alojamiento, comida y viajes para
los primeros días de rodaje.
-Con £1,000: financiamos por completo los primeros días de rodaje, repartidos en dos meses distintos.
-Más de £1,000: empezamos a pagar un pequeño salario al equipo y apoyamos el trabajo de montador/a, productor/a, director y músico.
En esta primera fase, el equipo no cobrará salarios: solo buscamos cubrir costes básicos.
Use of Funds
-With £550: we cover accommodation, food, and travel for the first days of filming.
-With £1,000: we fully fund the first days of filming, spread across two different months.
-Above £1,000: we begin paying a small salary to the team and support the work of the editor, producer, director, and musician.
At this stage, the team will not be earning anything: we are only looking to cover essential costs.
La Música
Gutier Álvarez es un músico multi instrumentista gallego especializado en las músicas de tradición procedente de las zonas afectadas. Colaborará con este proyecto creando la música original, conectando sonoridades propias de la tradición musical de Galicia con las imágenes de resiliencia y pertenencia que evoca este documental.

Gutier Álvarez is a multi-instrumentalist musician from Galicia, specialised in traditional music coming from the affected areas.
Collaborating in this project creating original music, connecting the resonances of Galicia's traditional music with the images of resilience and belonging evoked by this documentary.
