This project aims to offer advice to all in the locations people live, this will be local to them ensuring that everyone can benefit,
What we want to do
So many people are in need of support, a listening ear, a person with knowledge who can put them on the right track, maximise their income, sort out family stresses, ensure that they are not suffering through a lack of knowledge of their rights.
Bing able to have a roving adviser who can go out to those areas in our district that have no trains and very limited buses , being there to listen and to proactively work with local people to ensure that they can achieve the best for their families and themselves is our aim.
who we are?
we are a local organisation working with local people, many people think citizens advice is funded by the government we are not, we are a local charity raising the funds we need to work with over 10,000 issues each year. We can only operate with our wonderful team of volunteers who we train for three to six months in all areas of need, we also employ some specialists who can support people in the greatest need or who might need to have support at court.
what we do
All our support in free of charge, we cannot and do not charge anyone for our services.
We work with those in the greatest needs, especially those with mental health issues that cannot access help anywhere else. We work with those in debt and with family breakdown issues, we support those in abuse situations and those in danger of losing their homes. The volunteers listen to very difficult stories everyday, which not only impact the clients but themselves too. It is remarkable that we get volunteers to do this work for their community and without them people would have absolutely nowhere else to turn for support.
How we want to help others
Being able to support those with debts is a major part of our work, being in debt impacts on mental health and some clients cant see a future for themselves, however having our mental health workers working alongside our debt workers ensures that clients feel supported throughout the process and afterwards, so that they can see a future.
