We're still collecting donations
On the 4th July 2023 we'd raised £32,056 with 153 supporters in 56 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

On the 4th July 2023 we'd raised £32,056 with 153 supporters in 56 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
With the extra money we would put it towards the overall fundraising target towards the new nets which cost around £40,000 in total
We're crowdfunding £30,000 to put towards new practice nets that will hugely improve our cricketing facilities.
We're passionate about providing cricketing opportunities for all ages, and have an ambitious vision to build a thriving cricket set-up, with teams across all junior age groups and senior abilities. Playing in the Greater Manchester Cricket League, we run two senior teams and a junior section, playing in the Wigan and District League. We are also home to Adlington Nomads - our mixed-ability senior team, as well as a dedicated Academy for our most talented youngsters, and a Ladies Rounders Team. In winter, the cricket ground is also used by Adlington Junior Football Club.
We are a Clubmark accredited club and affiliated to Lancashire Cricket Foundation. We run All stars cricket and Dynamos cricket programme to build interest and excitement about cricket at a young age.
As a club we are active in the community and run family orientated events through the year as well as offering a high quality and great value space for private and community functions.
We are raising money in order to buy new net practice facilities to help deliver our vision of providing excellent cricket facilities to Adlington and the surrounding areas to increase participation in the sport and provide a high quality community asset. Our current facility is no longer fit for purpose and is significantly impacting our offering, and restricting the ability to scale our participation in cricket at both junior and senior level.
Our existing facility is shown below:
The facility we would like to install is a ECB approved two-lane cage style net facility. A net facility such as this enables greater access to cricket at all ages and abilities. It allows easier access for 1-2-1 coaching as well as small group practices. Additionally, it allows cricket to be played at the ground out of season or in slightly inclement weather. This will also allow cricket practice in the nets to run in parallel to matches or other activities on the main ground - we can't currently do this with the current facility due to health and safety concerns.

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Donate money directly to this page. Don?t delay if you're going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. If you want to run your own fundraiser to support us, maybe a sponsored activity or similar, use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won't need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
All of the money raised in this crowdfunding will go towards the cost of the new net facility. We are aiming to raise £30,000 from this crowdfunding as part of a wider fundraising effort to meet the required £40,000 cost of the new nets. Other money we will be raising from potential grants and fundraising efforts. An example of the new facility can be seen in the below video.
As part of our fundraising campaign we are applying for some funding from Sport England's 'Places and Spaces' fund, linked to creating a lasting legacy from Commonwealth Games in Birmingham 2022. Our new nets will create a new, long lasting facility that will attract new people of all ages and backgrounds to cricket - supporting both their physical and mental wellbeing, as well as overall community benefits ...
Adding this new facility to our club and improving our overall offering will have direct benefits to the local community by increasing participation in local grass roots sport. As a club we have really raised our profile in the local community over the past 2 years. Here's a few highlights on how we play a role
- 100 cricket and social members actively involved in the club - the new nets would directly benefit our current and future junior and senior members
- We have around 50 children aged 5-13 engaged in cricket at the club and also for the past two years have run the village school cricket cup, working closely with the local primary schools
- In 2022 we hosted approximately 30 private functions seeing around 1,500 people visit the club - being a hub for anything from birthday parties, christenings and baby showers to school leavers parties and works Christmas Parties.
- We run regular family events and also were actively involved in the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in the village
- Our Beer and Gin Festival in autumn has become a favourite - we saw up to 700 people attend in each of the first two years
- In 2022 we worked with around 20 local business on sponsorship agreements
We're passionate about cricket and creating a high quality facility for the Adlington community.
