Covered Golf Practice Facility

Aim
To keep rain or bright sun off our members and new golf academy Ladies, Gents & Juniors who wish to practice or have lessons all year round.
Who are we?
Our golf club makes small profits and invest any surplus income into keeping the facility working, attracting people to the sport of golf and all the benefits that can bring.
We aim to help players of all ages, develop new skills, keep active, reduce stress and meet new friends in a safe and picturesque environment.
Why are we crowdfunding?
This project initially started after seeing our ladies section diminishing as members started to leave golf, due to age. Ladies and indeed gents of any age just wern't coming forward. Golf is inclusive, not a dangerous sport, excellent for exercise, mental wellbeing, people of all ages can play it, its out in the fresh air, a typical round of golf is 10,000 steps and you dont have to be super fit to start.
So sport/fitness is an aspiration for most, but in a busy calendar people wish to train when it suits them. We unfortunately cannot predict the weather, so a covered facility will allow people of all ages to train under cover anytime throughout the year.

How we’ll spend the money raised
We have researched the best type of covered practice facilities and 3 bay Dry Rainge installation will be the best fit. It is portable, it can be moved on wheels and it allows clubs to be hit off grass just like on a real course. The cover comes complete with all wheels, lock down stakes and is installed by the manufacturer on site.
Community impact
The covered area can be used for private one to one lessons or friends just practicing. Club demo days as well as new to golf members who wish to give golf a try. Academy lessons will not need to be rescheduled if the weather is wet as this faciity will ensure we can keep our commitment to weekend lessons too.
