I am proud to confirm that on July 4th, I will be standing for election to become your new MP for Solihull West and Shirley.
I am a dedicated campaigner and proven local champion ready to bring about the change Solihull deserves. I have a record of delivery in Solihull and I can do so much more if you elect me as your MP.
Unlike the other parties, who are yet to name their candidates and will offer a last-minute, uncommitted choice, the Liberal Democrats have chosen me again - a proven leader who understands and is committed to our community.
Outgoing Conservative MP, Julian Knight, has been a monumental failure, for a whole variety of reasons. Solihull deserves better than a representative who is absent and disconnected from the needs of the community. The Conservatives will now try to inflict another such person on Solihull West & Shirley once more.
The Conservatives have repeatedly shown that they cannot be trusted to deliver on their promises. Their leadership has left essential services in tatters and failed to support the hard-working people of Solihull. It’s time for a change, and I am ready to lead that change.
I am a Truly Local Resident
I have lived in Solihull for over 27 years. I am well-known and trusted locally and I am dedicated to improving local services and the lives of local people.
I am extremely well-grounded in local and national politics - I was first elected as Councillor for Lyndon ward on 2016 and I am the Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group on Solihull Council.
I urge the people of Solihull West and Shirley to join me in campaigning for a brighter future for our borough. I want to create a community where healthcare, safety, and financial support are not just promises, but realities.
Let’s make July 4th the beginning of a new chapter for Solihull.
My Commitment to you in Solihull West and Shirley
I am committed to working hard for positive change in the new Solihull West and Shirley constituency. I will be focussing on three key issues that directly impact our community:
1) Improving GP Services and Primary Care:
The Conservatives have failed our NHS, leaving GP services and primary care in a state of crisis. I will fight to ensure that everyone in Solihull has timely access to the healthcare when they need it.
2) Increasing Police Presence
With rising concerns about safety and crime, it is essential to have a well-resourced police force. If I'm elected as your MP, I will push to increase police presence and ensure that our community is safe and secure.
3) Helping with the Cost of Living Crisis
Many low and middle-income earners are struggling under the current economic pressures. I will push for more substantial support to alleviate the cost of living crisis, ensuring that families in Solihull can thrive.
I am committed to creating a fairer, greener, and more caring community. My focus is on delivering real, practical solutions that benefit everyone in Solihull.
