To support people overcome preventable diseases through active wellbeing sports, empowerment and improve mental wellbeing.
I know first hand how important it is to have a routine of physical active of some form to help with my emotional, physical and mental wellbeing but most of the time I do lack the motivation to do so.
IMPACT
The disproportionality in health inequalities that exist among people from diverse ethnic communities and those with disability and their families in many ways create pressure on the already fully exhausted health service due to type 2 diabetes and heart related illness that are preventable with light to moderate sports activities.
THE CRY OF THE PEOPLE
From our research, many people from ethnic minority communities and people with disability and their families living in and around Thrapston, Raunds, Finedon, Irthlingborough, Higham Ferrers and Rushden would like to be a part of some form of an active wellbeing that they can relate to and meet their busy life schedules. The know the benefit of a physically active lifestyle but most of the current provisions are not suitable for their current needs.
INTERVENTION

We have started the provision of physical wellbeing actives including, dancing your way to fitness, table tennis and moderate physical activity that takes into consideration the individual capabilities and unique circumstances.
The results have been overwhelming but we can't continue supporting these people without funding to cover various costs including, professionals, qualified coaches, trainers, equipment, and support for families with additional needs, transport, volunteer expense and administration.
ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES
Our dedicated team and volunteers continue to make a difference in the lives of many people across the local communities.

OUTCOMES
Already strong bond is being formed. Others are getting motivated to commit to training a little bit more. Some are encouraged by the improvement they have seen in their health and mental wellbeing. Others are encouraged by the testimony of others and for the first time in so many years made a decision to join more than one of the active-wellbeing activities we run every week.
