Action For Cabbies - Black Cabbies v TfL

Following on from our statement a couple of weeks ago, Crowdfund funds have been drawn and passed on to our solicitors, Rosenblatt, as we advised would happen. Rosenblatt have since written asking TfL to reconsider their decision to prohibit cab drivers from passing on their card transaction charges to passengers, and inviting them to respond by 3 May - the date when the 3 month deadline to submit a Judicial Review Application expires.

We have invited TfL to allow cab drivers to charge a surcharge on the condition that this does not exceed the transaction fee, a solution which we consider would be fairer to drivers and passengers alike. We hope that TfL will agree to this proposal, but given the tight deadlines, we have instructed Rosenblatt to prepare the Application for a JR should we need to issue it next week.

We will be in a position to update again (hopefully next week) when there is more to report.
