Action Against Hunger

Action Against Hunger is an international charity committed to saving the lives of malnourished children and supporting their families to beat hunger. For more than 40 years, we’ve led the global movement that aims to end life-threatening hunger for good within our lifetimes. 

Around the world, 810 million people go to bed hungry every night. Nearly half of all child deaths worldwide are from causes related to hunger and undernutrition, even though most of the causes are predictable, preventable and treatable. Our teams are on the front lines – treating and preventing malnutrition in some of the world’s most remote places. 

Recently, our work across the world has included:

• helping the response to coronavirus in Somalia, supporting the only quarantine hospital in the country’s capital, Mogadishu
• working in 60 health facilities in Yemen to treat 31,000 people suffering from malnutrition during the ongoing conflict
• treating over 3,500 children under five for undernutrition every day in Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh
• restoring access to safe water for communities affected by the Beirut port explosion in Lebanon
