Accuro aims to reduce social isolation for local people with a disability, and provide respite breaks for families and carers
About Accuro
Accuro is a local charity supporting children, young people and adults with a disability through social, leisure and educational opportunities in West Essex.
Accuro is about disability empowerment. We encourage our members to be themselves in a safe space to allow them to be more confident and independent and to increase their self-esteem. We work with the local community to reduce barriers and provide vital short break respite for families and carers.

Projects
Accuro provides a range of projects for people with a disability throughout Uttlesford, Harlow and Epping Forest.
Our Youth Clubs run on term time evenings and on Saturdays and friendships can be consolidated during our Holiday Scheme which takes place during school holidays with half and full day activities. Parents tell us that these activities are a 'lifeline' that really do help families to cope.
We have a range of social activities for young adults aged 19-25 and for all adults through out West Essex. These activities reduce social isolation for adults with a disability and for many it can be the only time they leave their home.

New to 2022 is STRIDE, a 6 month series of workshops for young people with a disability aged 19-25. The workshops increase life skills for our members and introduce them to concepts that are critical as they enter adult life. Our STRIDE graduates enjoyed a weekend residential together to build on all they had leant. For many of our members it was the first time they had stayed away from home and provided a wonderful break for families and carers.
