What Is the Access to Justice Initiative?

Access to Justice is more than a programme, it’s a mission.

Across the UK, thousands of people and small business owners are unable to get legal advice simply because they can’t afford the high fees charged by traditional law firms. This leaves vulnerable individuals at risk and allows injustices to go unchallenged.

Our Access to Justice Initiative tackles these issues head-on by:

• Reducing the cost barrier to legal services for those in need
• Providing legal services at a nominal fee for contributors to the fund
• Offering transparent, fixed-fee solutions and free initial consultations where appropriate
• Empowering communities to understand and enforce their legal rights
• Building legal resilience and trust through community outreach and education

This initiative ensures that those who contribute to the collective fund are not left behind, everyone who supports the mission will have access to legal services when they need them most.

Why We Need Your Support

The Access to Justice Initiative operates on a mutual support model -  those who contribute to the fund also benefit from it. By pooling resources, we create a shared safety net that makes quality legal support available at a nominal fee, far below market rates.

Who Will Benefit?

Everyone who contributes to this fund, whether £30 or £60, gains access to legal support. The initiative is designed to serve contributors who:

• Cannot typically afford private legal fees
• Need one-off legal assistance or ongoing legal support
• Run small businesses or sole trader operations
• Are facing difficult personal circumstances, such as eviction, employment disputes, family breakdown, or debt
• Would otherwise go unrepresented due to financial hardship
