Our free Information & Advice Service supports older people to access the help and support they need to continue to engage in the community.
We are a passionate team at Age UK Tunbridge Wells, all with the aim to improve later life for older people in our community and to make it a fulfilling and enjoyable experience, by offering a range of services, including, among others, our Information & Advice service.
We believe that all older people should have access to the very best and most up-to-date information. That’s why our free Information and Advice service aims to provide local older people with the support of the highest standard. Problems can feel overwhelming, especially when we need help to solve them, and sometimes sharing private information can feel daunting. However, making decisions is much easier when you understand all the options. What’s more, our advisor is trained, the service is confidential, and how much assistance you decide to accept is up to the client. Uniquely we can visit the client's house, again taking the stress out of the whole process and making it easier to find the paperwork to process the right information.
We can provide information and advice on a whole range of topics including • applying for benefits, checking entitlements and making applications • dealing with debt and money worries • finding suitable housing and other accommodation.
Last year we released benefit take up of over £861,000, this is the money going back into the community enabling vulnerable older people a route to a better quality of life.
Every penny we get will go to support and extend our information and advice service enabling us to continue to improve the lives of our older community.
