We have a lot to do to be compliant, welcoming, effective and open to all. Please help us achieve our aims in 2024
We are Rickmansworth CC and we are in our 237th year! Which makes us legendary. We want to offer something for everyone going forwards regardless of age, social standing or disability.

The downside of being 237 is that everything is old and not suited to the world we live in today. From machinery to toilets it all needs updating and we need to appeal to the next generation. We need safe, accessible facilities and equipment.
Disabled access and facilities are not something anyone considered 100 years ago - but we need to. We are also struggling with climate change and how it affects our facilities. We need to establish something for the next 100 years and beyond.
We are targeting being more inclusive for young players, women and girls and members of the community who do not have access to a healthy living lifestyle.

On our list are a number of things. Firstly the machinery that needs replacing is a Rotary Mower. A new one to the specification we need is £1700. Secondly, to get rid of the thatch in the grass and to prepare a better Cricket wicket we need a scarifier. Our last one was dismantled by our ex-groundsman. The replacement cost for this is £695. For security and also to enable supporters to follow us, we would like to install a Frogbox camera system. This £1,150 to buy the equipment and then an annual streaming cost of £350. Total £1,500. We have a 25 year old shipping container which is secure, but is leaking from the roof and is wet inside. By buying better equipment we need somewhere decent to store it. To dry-line the walls and and repair the roof of the storage container has been quoted to us as £1300. Finally, we need to repair the Astro-Turf surface in our nets which is something that all of our members will benefit from, so the remainder of the money we are looking to raise will go towards this (£2,000). The money we raise will go a long way to securing this and the clubs future.
To Summarise the costs:
Machinery £2,395
Cameras £1,500
Container repairs £1,300
Repairs to practice surfaces £2,000
TOTAL £7,195
As many of you will have seen, we are really expanding out into the community, especially with our Girls and Women's players and coaches. We have been asked by Middlesex Cricket to host their Inter-Schools South East U15 Girls competition this year which will bring a lot more girls into Sport. In 2024 we have entered more boys and girls teams into the Herts Junior League than ever before. This shows the demand is there for safe, quality sports coaching and games. Herts Cricket have asked us to consider Disabled Cricket which we would also like to cater for, but we need these improvements first. We are a community club, for the local people, and have never charged more for membership than is enough to sustain us. It is great to see the club become a focal point of the community and with your help, we can achieve our aims.

How you can play your part
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
