Access to Expeditions for young people in Wales

Unfortunately this project was not successful.

We would like to offer free places on our Duke of Edinburgh expedition programme to disadvantaged young people in North Wales.

Participating in a Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) expedition offers numerous benefits for young people. DofE expeditions take participants out of their comfort zones, challenging them to overcome obstacles. As they navigate unfamiliar terrain, they build self-belief and confidence in their abilities.

Engaging in expeditions allows young people to discover more about themselves. They learn about their strengths, weaknesses, and what truly matters to them. Planning and executing an expedition require initiative and responsibility. Participants learn to make decisions, manage resources, and lead their team effectively.

Young people have the opportunity to spend extended periods in nature, learning vital skills of navigation, outdoor cooking and self-reliance, useful practical skills for life. Participants also often discover hidden talents along the way.

Though our donation programme, we aim to fund access to a bronze, silver or gold expedition to 50 young people in North Wales this year.
