ABTC is fundraising to resurface the village courts, erect new perimeter fencing and install an electronic gate enabling pay-and-play.
There have been tennis courts on the village hall site for over 100 years. The club encourages all age groups, from youngsters right up to the not so young (we have a number of members still playing in their 80s). We offer professional coaching through our partner company Microsports, with children's coaching offered from age four upwards. Our aim is for everyone, at whatever age, to benefit from exercise and the camaraderie of playing with others. We are also have floodlights, which facilitate year-round-play.

We are crowdfunding as now is the right time to deliver our project. The courts were last resurfaced in the 1980s and the perimeter fencing is in urgent need of replacement. Without this investment, tennis in Abbots Bromley will not be readily available. With improvements and the addition of an electronic access gate we can build on our energy and enthusiasm, attract more players to join the club and, as a hub in the centre of our village, promote tennis as a healthy, enjoyable pastime.

The Village Hall Trustees (our landlords) have reviewed and approved our plans. Following a competitive tendering process, ABTC has appointed a SAPCA (Sports And Play Construction Association) registered tennis court builder in anticipation of raising the money. The company has quoted for the resurfacing of the courts and the erection of new perimeter fencing. The smaller cost of the electronic gate system will be financed through an LTA loan, to be repaid via the increased revenue we shall raise from pay-and-play usage.

Our aim is to create a modern, safe and inclusive facility that encourages more people of all ages and abilities to be active through tennis. The project will benefit not only existing club members but also residents of Abbots Bromley and neighbouring communities, visitors who want to 'have a go' and those with disabilities who require accessible facilities.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
