To help keep Abraham Moss Warriors sports club open for families struggling due to the Cost of Living Crisis in Cheetham and Crumpsall
by June Kelly MBE in Manchester, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom
On the 7th March 2023 we'd raised £21,147 with 125 supporters in 42 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
If we reach our stretch target we can start to bring back all of the 240 members we had to release in September 2022
Unfortunately due to funding restrictions we had to reduce the number of people who could attend the club .
The initial 20,000 pounds will help us stay open for the 212 young people we currently have attending but with your help the £35,000 means we could bring the whole club back together again, which would be amazing for the community.
Abraham Moss Warriors at the Heart of the Community CIC, is a place where people come as strangers and leave as friends!!
Running for over 22 years It is the beating Heart of the community and is a lifeline for many families in Cheetham Hill and Crumpsall in North Manchester
We had 452 members in September 2022 but have had to cut that down to 212 members as we have recently struggled for funding.
We try to keep the fees as low as possible only £1 per hr session and all kit and equipment is provided free of charge.

Sumiya Patel, who has two children at the club, said: "The area has a history of violence and drug dealing."This academy is helping my kids build their future in our community, instead of spoiling their future and getting into bad habits.
Another parent commented "Because of this club I find my kids are in good and safe hands and enjoying every moment of it."
Once daily football training sessions are now only weekly, while fuel prices mean running a team mini-bus has simply become too expensive and many children can not be in leagues any more .
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a rea
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. If you want to run your own fundraiser to support us, maybe a sponsored activity or similar, use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
We plan to spend the money on paying to-Subsidise sessions so that all the children can attend without worrying if parents will have enough money to let them go
FACILITY HIRE so that we can continue to run sessions in a safe environment away from fear of gangs and have somewhere warm for the children and families to go
Minibus hire to enable the club to get to matches for football
Food parcels for families struggling at home to eat
Sessional workers to support some of the sessions with the more challenging young people who need more support
Tutoring for children so nobody falls behind at school
