It's time to abolish the House of Lords

Most people agree it's time for us to abolish the outdated House of Lords. Fund the campaign to create a democracy we can be proud of.

There’s never been a better time to abolish the House of Lords. Disgraced ex-Prime Minister Boris Johnson has bagged his cronies life-time seats in our parliament and Labour leader Keir Starmer has vowed to scrap the bloated and outdated Lords once and for all. We need to make sure he keeps that promise.

That’s why we’re launching our biggest campaign ever, and you can be part of it!

Right now, everyone is rightly outraged about Boris Johnson’s squeezing his partygate pals into the already overcrowded red benches of parliament to make laws for the rest of their lives. We have a huge campaign planned to make sure that never happens again but we need money to launch it ASAP.

It’s time for us to transform politics and create a democracy we can be proud of.

At Sortition Foundation, perhaps unsurprisingly, we hope that an upgraded second chamber would involve citizens' assemblies selected by sortition, but unless Keir Starmer keeps his promise, we won’t have a democracy we can be proud of any time soon.
