Aberystwyth Open PSA Event

Aim

We want to bring a PSA event to the sunny seaside town of Aberystwyth, attracting the best male and female players from around the world.

Who are we?

Aberystwyth Squash Club based at Plascrug Leisure Centre, offering squash coaching and lessons to anyone from 4 years young to 94 years old

Why are we crowdfunding?

We want to showcase Aberystwyth to the world of squash, with two world class squash courts at Plascrug Leisure Centre, players from young and old as well as world class talent also playing out of the club we can't wait to host our first PSA event.

How we’ll spend the money raised

The money raised will go towards the squash club and it's junior squash section as well as helping run the PSA event, for the event to run we need to raise prize money as well as running costs of the event. But we also want to make the event a big hit off the court, taking squash into local schools and inviting over 1,000 children to the squash courts in the weeks leading up to the event. As well as this we want to invite adults to try their hand at a new sport with various sessions for all ages.

Community impact

Community is the key to any sports club, we have already had over 80 new juniors on our courts with various sessions and school visits and our PSA event will also focus on this. We want to make the event a big hit off the court, taking squash into local schools and inviting over 1,000 children to the squash courts in the weeks leading up to the event. As well as this we want to invite adults to try their hand at a new sport with various sessions for all ages.

There are three simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
