Abercrave RFC- a better club for our community- to improve facilities, our clubhouse and changing rooms.
Abercrave RFC is a proud community rugby club that has just celebrated its 130th anniversary. We offer rugby for all ages and abilities, including:
- 8 Mini and junior teams (ages 5–16)
- A thriving women’s touch rugby team
- An over-35s touch rugby team
- Two senior men’s sides
Our first team has just achieved back-to-back promotions and will compete in Division One West Central for the 2025/26 season. We’re growing fast—and now we need your help to grow sustainably.
While our teams are thriving on the pitch, our facilities are struggling off it.
The clubhouse and changing rooms are in urgent need of repair. The exterior of the clubhouse is visibly worn, and the changing rooms haven’t seen major investment in over 40 years. The showers and boilers—both in the changing rooms and the main clubhouse—are on their last legs.
Our newly formed women’s team refuses to use the showers, describing them as “disgusting.” That’s not acceptable. Every player, visitor, and member of our community deserves clean, safe, and welcoming facilities.
We’ve worked incredibly hard to earn our promotions and build a vibrant, inclusive club. Now it’s time to match that success with infrastructure that reflects our values.
How We’ll Use Your Support
Every pound raised will go directly toward:
- Repainting and restoring the exterior of the clubhouse
- Replacing the showers and boiler in the changing rooms
- Upgrading the main clubhouse boiler to improve energy efficiency
Our Community Impact
Abercrave RFC is more than just a rugby club—it’s a hub for our village.
We support:
- 8 mini and junior teams
- 3 senior men’s teams
- 1 women’s team
For a small community, that’s a huge footprint in promoting physical activity, teamwork, and wellbeing.
We also partner with local groups like Abercrave Happy Helpers, who use the clubhouse as their base. Their feedback is clear: the club needs to feel more welcoming, starting with a bright, clean exterior and warm, functional facilities.
Reducing our heating costs means we can reinvest more into the club—into better equipment, more opportunities, and a stronger future.

The money will be used to -
Urgently paint the clubhouse
Upgrade shower and boiler in changing rooms
Upgrade main clubhouse boiler
We have 8 mini and junior sides, 3 mens senior teams and the womens team, for a very small village we have a tremendous impact on positive physical activities in our community.
We are also working with community groups like Abercrave Happy Helpers to use the club as their base. Their feedback is that the club needs to be more welcoming and that starts with a good first impression with a bright and welcoming external clubhouse.
Our heating bills are very expensive and the more we can save here the more we can invest in better club facilities.
