Aim

To raise £400 for a heated outdoor cabinet and installation, bringing a 24/7 public-access defibrillator to 12 Abbotts Road, Peverell.

((🎯 PRIMARY GOAL REACHED — STRETCH GOAL ACTIVE!

A massive thank you to everyone! Thanks to online support and our offline games ("Name the Defib" and "Guess How Many Sweets in the Jar", active until October 30th), we have officially hit our £400 target!

We are now extending our target to cover:

Spare Electrodes & Pads: Pre-funding extra adult and paediatric pads so the unit can be refreshed immediately after use or when pads expire.

Long-Term Maintenance: Creating a dedicated battery and maintenance pot to keep this 24/7 CPAD fully operational for years to come.

Every extra pound helps ensure this lifesaving equipment stays ready for the community when it's needed most!))

Help Bring a 24/7 Life-Saving Defibrillator to Abbotts Road

The Goal

We are raising £400 to install a 24/7 Public Access Defibrillator (CPAD) outside 12 Abbotts Road, Peverell.

In a cardiac emergency, every second counts. Having immediate, 24-hour access to a defibrillator before an ambulance arrives can increase survival rates from less than 10% to over 70%.

Closing the Peverell Safety Gap

A quick check of the national emergency map (DefibFinder) shows a clear gap in 24/7 defibrillator coverage right around Abbotts Road, Hyde Park Road, and the surrounding streets.

While there are daytime units in nearby schools or businesses, emergencies don't stick to 9-to-5 opening hours. This project secures round-the-clock protection for local residents, families, visitors, and passers-by.

Why We Only Need £400

The defibrillator unit itself (valued at over £1,000) has already been secured via a grant from heart charity Jay’s Aim along with the outdoor cabinet, but requires a match-funding contribution of £400 to release the equipment.

By raising this £400 together:

  • Jay’s Aim provides the full defibrillator and outdoor cabinet package.
  • The unit gets officially registered with South Western Ambulance Service (The Circuit) so 999 call handlers can direct people to it in an emergency.

Installation and electrical fitting are being provided voluntarily, so every penny raised goes directly to meeting the charity's contribution requirement and getting the defib live on the wall.

If just 20 to 25 local residents or supporters donate £15–£20, we reach our target sooner.

Safe & Easy to Use

Anyone can use a public defibrillator. You do not need to be a paramedic or trained first aider. Once opened, the automated unit gives clear, step-by-step voice instructions and will only deliver a shock if the patient strictly requires one.

Where Your Money Goes

100% of all funds raised go directly to purchasing and maintaining this equipment at 12 Abbotts Road.

If we exceed our £400 target, every extra penny will be held in a dedicated community fund strictly for replacement battery packs and replacement pads to keep the unit active for years to come.

Together, we can make our neighborhood a safer place for everyone. Thank you for your support!
