Who are we?
Penlan Football Club was formed in 2006. We have 3 senior teams with over 70 adults and more than 12 junior teams with over 200 children, boys and girls, involved. We also have an over 35s and over 40s side including over 50 senior adults up to the age of 50. As a club, we have over 350 members amongst players and coaches.

Why are we crowdfunding?
Penlan AFC CIC has recently acquired a long term lease of pitches at Mynydd Newydd Playing Fields from Swansea Council.
Our current facilities are not at the level to provide a safe, secure and quality football facility. We have been unfortunate to experience significant vandalism of our current facilities often making them unsafe for players and unsightly for the general public.
We want to create a new safe and secure grass football facility at the heart of our community that will create new opportunities for generations to come. This will include a high-quality 11-a-side pitch with the target being able to secure a FAW tier 3 ground license ideally by the 2025/2026 season and smaller pitches for use by the junior section. We have recently secured planning permission to do just this including for a 2.4m security perimeter fence and a 100 seater stand. We need to secure the funding to deliver this exciting project.
We want to create a facility the local community can be proud of and inspire children and adults in our community to become involved in football. We want them to be able to look at our facilities at Myndd Newydd and want to be part of our club and football more widely.
We have a dream of a facility everyone in our community can be proud of. This crowd funder will go along way to making that dream a reality.

How we’ll spend the money raised
We have already successfully secured funding for a storage container, roll on box goal and ride on mower to improve and maintain the new pitch.
We need to secure funding for a range of other items to achieve our dreams including a 100 seater stand, spectator rail, perimeter security fencing, dugouts and hardstanding around the pitch.
Whatever we raise will go to these items with a particular focus on the stand to improve accessibility for those who need to sit to watch games and training and the perimeter security fencing to alleviate vandalism and ensure our facility is safe and secure to use at all times by all our club members and the community.

Community impact
By creating a facility the club and the local community can be proud of we aim to deliver the following impacts:
- A high quality football facility for use by the club and the wider local community such as local schools
- Expand participation in sport through a facility children and adults want to play football on
- Improved health and wellbeing outcomes in our community through increased participation in sport
- Improved space that currently isn't fit for purpose
- Improved accessibility for people no matter what background or disabilities
- Increased community outreach with a facility the community want to use such as schools for sports days
