Our Feature film Powder will be completed in May 2026 we want to campaign it in 8 film festivals in the UK and we need your help.

WHO WE ARE.
I’m Alastair Robertson, founder of GTF Films Ltd, a social enterprise rooted in West Lothian with a clear mission: to open up the screen industries to people who wouldn’t normally get a chance.
My background is in learning technology and creative production, and I’ve built GTF Films to combine both - creating professional film projects that double as real training and employment opportunities.
GTF Films has grown from a community group to a full production company. On Powder we had over 43 cast and crew and over 100 supporting artists who came along. We are now working on our 2nd Feature but that's top secret.

POWDER (Feature Film) run time 1hour 25minutes
Synopsis
Powder is a gritty West Lothian crime drama about loyalty, survival and the choices people make when life gives them no easy way out. Set against the backdrop of local streets, hidden deals and fractured relationships, the film follows ordinary people caught in a dangerous world where trust is fragile and consequences hit hard. Rooted in community, shaped by real locations and driven by raw performances, Powder tells a powerful Scottish story about ambition, betrayal and what happens when survival becomes the only rule.
OUR CAST
Main Cast - Jo Fergie, Neil Hardie, Daniel Kharwar, Fivo, Elijah Mirza, Ruth J Parchment, Scott Fleming, Freya O'Horo

OUR TEAM
Our team is a mix of experienced industry professionals and emerging talent, working side by side so skills are passed on in a practical, meaningful way.
Working alongside Simon Williamson (Director of Photography) Ryan Kerr ( Sound), Scott McIntosh (AC) and Alex Caldow (Gaffer) as our technical team allowed us to train another 8 trainees during principle photography.

Powder is our first feature film and is now at the end of post-production. It’s a gritty, authentic crime drama drawn from real communities, made with local people, and designed to show that high-quality cinema can come from anywhere.
Throughout the project, we’ve already trained and supported individuals into further work, proving that this model works- not just creatively, but socially.

OUR VISION
Our vision is bigger than one film. We’re building a sustainable pipeline where storytelling, training, and opportunity are connected- creating a new route into the industry for those often excluded.
HOW DID WE GET HERE
We started this feature film with no funding through the last 2 years we have fundraised, crowdfunded, invested and brought in over £50k to get us to where we are now. That one more push will a huge difference to this community led project.

WHAT WE PLAN TO DO IF FUNDED
The funding we raise will allow us to take Powder onto the UK festival circuit, covering submission fees, travel, accommodation, and marketing. This is a crucial next step: it gives the film visibility, creates industry connections, and helps us secure future investment so we can continue making films and expanding opportunities for others.
We need your help to do this please donate and help get Powder to the cinema run it deserves.

TESTIMONIALS

Ryan Kerr - Sound Mixer/Design
" I had a blast working on Powder. A great set of cast and crew, with really dedicated and talented trainees- My sound trainee Josh was incredibly hard working and impressive. Always happy to work with Ally on a GTF project, and I appreciate what GTF films is trying to do in providing excellent film opportunities for upcoming creative artists, and building a community for independent Scottish filmmakers"

Lesley Gray- Cast
"Working on Powder as a cast member has been one of the most raw and rewarding experiences I've been part of. The energy, commitment and trust across the cast made it feel less like a production and more like a living, breathing story we were all shaping together. From conception to being in the birth canal and finally passing through the ring of fire. It feels like I've always known I'd be assisting bringing our Powder baby to life. This is the final push"

FINALLY
WHY SUPPORT THIS FILM....
“Support this film because it speaks directly to contemporary working-class life in Central Scotland. It tells real stories about real people, in real towns, facing the everyday dilemmas many communities know too well.
This film also proves what can be achieved through commitment, opportunity and proper training. Every contribution helps us push it further, reach wider audiences, and show that ordinary people can create something extraordinary.
Every penny counts. Please support us.”
