At Hug in a Mug we want to provide a warm, welcoming place where local people can come together after a cancer diagnosis or bereavement.
CancerCare provides a wide range of services and activities in North Lancashire and South Cumbria for people facing a cancer diagnosis or bereavement. We are an independent local charity that's been wrapping our arms around local people and their families as they navigate life's toughest moments for 40 years, and receive no public or government funding.
Many people who regularly join us for Hug in a Mug, our popular pop-up support cafe, in Lancaster, Kendal and Barrow are facing a cancer diagnosis and looking for somewhere to offload, coming to the end of their treatment and looking to share their experience, or simply want to reconnect with others after a loss.
Hug in a Mug provides that listening ear and warm welcome, so needed as we help everyone face tomorrow for as long as they need us.

Any money raised through this project will go towards covering our increasing energy bill, ensuring our centres are a comfortable, warm and welcoming environment for all users and that we can offer everyone a hot drink through the cold winter months ahead.
