Vision:

“A Step Outside” unfolds within the confines of Robin’s home. It symbolises both safety and entrapment for her. The interior tones of her world sharply contrast the vibrant world beyond her doorstep. The film explores the balance between comfort and fear as Robin deals with loss, anxiety and the courage to bring about change in her life. The story is meant to capture the raw emotions and the tension between the comfort of the known and the terror of the unknown. The use of lights and shadows will reflect Robin’s internal struggle, with her dim and enclosed home juxtaposing against the bright and open outdoors she fears. The goal is to capture Robin’s struggle with facing her fear while drawing the audience into her world and inspiring them to face their fears.
