We are a young team of filmmakers setting out to create an emotionally impactful short film. With your help we can tell this unique story.

What is A Simple Piece?

A Simple Piece is a short film that follows aspiring pianist Andrew Novak, with a chance of a lifetime on the horizon, he is diagnosed with Essential Tremor Disorder (ET), that renders him unable to play. But as all seems lost he turns to his student Edie to help him re-learn what it means to make music.

What is Essential Tremor Disorder?

ET is a nervous system (neurological) disorder that causes involuntary and rhythmic shaking. It is also the most common neurological disorder. We have partnered with the National Tremor Foundation to best portray this affliction and make our film as accurate as possible.

Who are Green Ball Productions?

We are a newly founded media production company that is all about exploring the untold through film. With pre-production having begun on our short ‘A Simple Piece’ we intend to keep exploring stories we feel need to be told and with your help, we hope this can continue.

 Meet the Team

Alex Rigby – Producer                                           

Alex has so far produced two feature films in the last year that are in post-production. He has also worked within the corporate sector creating advertising as well as internal videos for business use. With countless side projects being undertaken, currently including stage management at a Birmingham theatre, he is taking the next steps to develop films that tell human stories that we can all relate to. 

Bradfield Thomas – Director

His drive and singular focus on the task at hand sets him apart from his peers. His calm and joking demeanour cuts through high stress situations and helps the team finish the job to a high standard. Currently, he is editing for two separate documentaries and has directed the behind the scenes for Fixed (2021), which aired on BBC News. Storytelling is his passion, and film is his purpose.

Kiran (Kiki) Panchal – Writer 

Kiki's care and attention to detail in crafting each story makes him invaluable to our team. He ensures the base of our stories are grounded, yet still portrays the magic of the big screen. He has written a number of short stories, a novella, short scripts, and a feature-length screenplay.

George Munro – Producer

A creative producer making his way in the film industry. Previously worked on the creation of the EPK (Electronic Press Kit) for the film Fixed (2021) which was later used to send out to film markets in order to secure distribution deals. Currently working solely on the development of a British Sports based documentary series. George brings a comedic calm approach to the team environment to help with high stress moments, in addition to this he sets high standards ensuring goals are met to certain deadlines, resulting in high quality of work.

Oliver Dupont – 1st AC

‘My name is Oliver Dupont and I’m a young film maker and artist currently located in Birmingham. I love creating work and putting it out there for others to see. For the rest of my life, I want to be working with other artists in films, documentaries, exhibitions and so much more. Since starting my Masters in September this has only confirmed to myself how much I love the arts and film.’

Betsy-Jo Warren – 1st AD/Producer

Betsy-Jo is a talented filmmaker from Nottingham. She started on the feature film Fixed, which successfully made its way onto Amazon. She has since been a part of multiple short films, using her knowledge and efficiency, she has managed to bring a high standard to every set she has worked on. Her determination for each projects success makes her a valuable asset to the team.

Rohith Ravi – EPK Creator

‘Hi, my name is Rohith Ravi, I'm part of the crew developing the short film. I came from India last year, I'm passionate about filmmaking & love the way it brings people together. I’m glad to be a part of “A Simple piece”, as it is about a less spoken condition: Tremor & how it affects someone in their personal life & goals.’
