The loco formally known as Charles Wytock should have the chimney it was always meant to - like sibling Isibutu. Let's make it happen!
Charles Wytock was one of several 4-4-0T Bagnall locos originally built for Tongaat Sugar Estates, Natal. It has had a long life in various locations and in various states of decrepitude, but now, following a major overhaul it has a new home at the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway.
Beyond a new home and a new lease on life, the little Bagnall also has a new name - Sir George Newnes - in honour of the man who played a major part in the development of Lynton and Lynmouth, and significantly, was responsible for the original19-mile Lynton & Barnstaple Railway.
The one thing Sir George Newnes really needs is a smarter chimney - Sibling Bagnall Isibutu (now resident at Statfold Barn) sports the chimney that Sir George should have, and the owners have agreed that should funds be raised for the correct chimney to be cast and delivered, they are happy for it to be fitted.
Here is the current chimney next to Isibutu...what a difference!

So, with a foundry located, and a funding target set, we could be looking at Sir George Newnes looking pretty swish at the L&B!
No donation is too large or small! Stumped for what to put on your Christmas list? Why not ask for a gift towards the chimney appeal!
