An environmentally holistic solution to food waste challenge via iSaver (eCommerce) and iDigest (Automated/modular Bio-upcycler)
Challenge
Take a look at the waste bins around you; with the absence of food waste bin as shown in the video, how can we achieve a target of zero food waste to landfill by 2020?
IntelliDigest is here to change the paradigm with our automated bio-upcycer
Our solution
Using Artificial Intelligence and Computational chemistry we are developing an app-iSaver for personalised and localised distribution of food before it goes to waste and the food that is not distributed to people through our app is transferred to our automated bio-upcycler and transformed to high value materials that replaces plastics.

iSaver will be offered free to HaFS businesses and iSave users (anyone with a smart phone with iSaver app) to make food/meal available for purchase before it goes to waste while items from the iSaver platform which are not bought by people but has exceeded its 'used by' date and other waste from the HaFS that are all classified as 'unavoidable waste' are put through our iDigest to produce useful bio-materials such as completely biodegradable disposable cups, plates and cutlery. iDigest will be leased to HaFS for a monthly fee.
Why back IntelliDigest campaign?
As the founder and director of IntelliDigest Ltd, my vision is to provide a more environmentally friendly and holistic approach to solve the food waste challenge for hospitality and food sector businesses (Hotels, restaurants, food retailers, hospitals and schools), providing convenience, saving them money and providing regulatory compliance. In the future we will be providing a solution for our homes.
IntelliDigest was set up following my PhD in Environmental Engineering at Heriot Watt University. I am currently engaging with entrepreneurial experts through support from Scottish Enterprise/Business Gateway, Royal Bank of Scotland, Royal Academy of Engineering and WAYRA AI & Block Chain programme to to transform my PhD research to a solution for the global food waste problem following on my passion to create novel technologies for solving environmental challenges.
Fund use
Raising private funding of £10,000 from this Crowdfunding will enable Ifeyinwa to leverage research grant from Scottish Funding Council at a match funding of 35% to 65% of a total sum of £40,000.
We will use the funding to further develop our iSaver platform and iDigest process with a reward of a biodegradable cup/plate that will be produced from our process and a thank you certificate.
