Pride in Liverpool 2023 is taking a different approach, with a city centre wide takeover featuring pop up performances everywhere across the city based on feedback from our 2022 attendee survey where many people expressed an interest in a more community focussed Pride.
Pride is more than just a stage. Pride has and always will be a protest. It is a powerful symbol of visibility, acceptance and solidarity.
We do not have a headline sponsor for Pride in Liverpool 2023 so we carefully considered how to best deliver an event programme that matches up with our community's values and weighed it up against making sure we could using our charity's funding to make the biggest impact possible.
With our new concept, we can grow year-on-year, delivering an even bigger Pride in Liverpool around what the community would like to see.
With that in mind, we know a number of attendees love the main stage, so to give us the best chance of delivering this in 2024, we are launching a Crowdfunder.
The cost to deliver a main stage area (including security and safety requirements) for a stage is approximately £60,000 with an additional £20,000 budget for talent.
The funds raised through this crowd funder will be used directly to fund Pride In Liverpool's main stage area with any surplus being spent on the wider event.
LCR Pride Foundation will also be continuing talks with sponsors and funders - and any sponsorship secured for the main stage will be reflected in the funds raised.
