Our additional fund will enable us to support more female survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery, providing them with the skills they need to succeed.
We’re taking part in the National Emergencies Trust Local Action Fund. Donations to our project will be matched by the fund up to the value of £250 per donation to help us overcome the effects of the pandemic.
Please note only one donation per supporter will be matched by the National Emergencies Trust Local Action Fund.
We're an award-winning charity supporting female survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery. Using baking as a tool, our programme provides baking, wellbeing and employability skills-based training in a safe, caring environment.
Whilst we equip and empower women with the skills they need for a positive future, we also support them as they integrate into the wider community, moving to voluntary work, paid employment or further education.
“I learned that I was born with the skills I need to do anything. I just need to recognise and use them. This has really given me the strength and courage to go on.” - Graduate, Cohort 7
Every survivor who walks through our doors has a unique story to tell; many have been stripped of confidence, dignity and vision for a positive future.
Our programme "a little taste of freedom", provides the safe and caring space needed to rebuild confidence, connect with a community and work towards a future of independence - whether that's through voluntary work, paid employment or education.
We've witnessed incredible transformation with survivors equipped and empowered to learn new skills, step into new work environments and even - complete university degrees!
Listen to one of our graduates - Wumi - discuss her experience here.
Last year we had to turn away 30% of applicants so this year, we're scaling-up! With your support we'll run 36 workshops supporting more survivors than ever before.
Alongside this, we're developing a coaching + mentoring scheme, providing long-term support to survivors after they've graduated.
Your support will enable us scale-up and put the time, money and resource into our coaching + mentoring scheme with a focus on supporting women into voluntary roles, paid employment or education.
We know our work has a hugely positive effect on the women we support and we want to do more. Over the next 12 months we'll be embarking on a journey to find a permanent home for Bramber Bakehouse - enabling us to run programmes more frequently with further support offered to the women who need it most.
We're also working towards a model of semi-self-sustainability - setting up a social enterprise bakery which will provide voluntary and paid work opportunities to graduates.
"Bramber Bakehouse is the motivation I needed. You just need to enter to see what you can achieve and go out and get it." - Graduate, Cohort 8
