A hands-on science centre in Cheltenham

Aim

Cheltenham Science Group wants to build five high quality exhibits for use at outreach events and at their planned hands-on science centre

Cheltenham Science Group is inspiring a new generation to love science, technology, engineering and maths. We want to:

• enable the public to experience, investigate and enjoy hands-on science
• provide outreach to schools and community groups
• forge links between STEM businesses and the community

To do this, we want to open a permanent hands-on science centre in Cheltenham. During February half term we are running a pop-up science centre in the Regent Arcade. As well as some exhibits we have built themselves, in partnership with the Cotswold Perfumery, we have some exhibits on loan from At-Bristol science centre. These are high quality products.

We want to invest in building our own exhibits that will form the basis of our permanent centre but are portable so can also be used for outreach events. Each exhibit will cost £500 to develop. Initially, we are aiming to raise funds for five exhibits. Any overfunding will be used to develop additional exhibits.
