To make the most of your donations to get us onto the ballot paper in the South Leic...
The Green Party prides itself on not taking money from big business. We rely on the generosity of the public who support our policies.
With a General Election looming I am delighted to have been selected by local Greens to stand for Parliament in the South Leicestershire constituency.
To stand in a General Election, candidates need to put down a deposit of £500 which they lose if they get less than 5% of the vote. If I manage to retain my deposit then the returned deposit will aid the local party in their campaigning to to return our first councillors in Harborough District and increase the number of councillors in Blaby District.’
The £500 ensures that the Green party will be on the ballot paper for the election so any further money raised will go towards the costs of a leaflet for every home in the constituency. To do this we will use a free mailing service provided by the Royal Mail but the printing of the leaflets will cost a further £400 and another £60 for a poster and rosettes.
The Green Party are not funded by unions or big corporations; we have to raise our own funds from members and supporters so please give what you can so that I can be your voice in this election and hopefully in Parliament too.
