Kerry Harrison for a fresh start in Hull and East Yorkshire!
On Thursday 1st May 2025, residents across Hull and East Yorkshire will go to the polls to elect their first mayor for the new combined authority of Hull and East Yorkshire.
Right across Hull and East Yorkshire, the future demands a just transition to a green economy, to make our communities fairer, greener and more resilient. The region needs a Green Mayor at the helm, to deliver the change we need. You can’t rely on other candidates.
Mayoral campaigns are expensive. It costs £5,000 to pay our deposit to stand, and around another £4,500 to get our message out across the area in the official election booklet and through other communications. That's £9,500 overall.
A strong mayoral campaign also gives us a boost for future local elections, helping to break through with strong Green voices in our local council chambers.

Kerry Harrison is standing as your mayoral candidate for the Green Party.
Kerry lives in Hessle, in the heart of the new authority, where until recently she ran a social media company. She now works at a special needs school in Anlaby, supporting young people with complex needs. Her experience of working with clients and in education, along with her coaching and counselling qualifications, has helped Kerry develop and hone the listening skills vital for this new role.
Kerry is also a trustee for a local cat rescue charity (Jenny’s Cat House) and is on the committee for the Balfour Community Centre on Holderness Road, Hull. She’s hosted a pop-up café and has run women’s circles.
Her two sons are members of local grassroots football and rugby clubs.
Kerry said, “Initially, the new Mayor won’t have wide ranging powers or a huge budget, but over time the possibilities to transform people’s lives will increase as we’ve seen in other parts of the country. This gives me and my Green team a great opportunity to offer a bold and imaginative agenda for the future of Hull and East Yorkshire.
“I’m offering a positive, progressive plan that gives a fresh start for our communities. This is not the time for recycled politicians and the reheated policies of failure. This election gives us a unique opportunity to put forward a hopeful and ambitious Green Party programme to the people of Hull and the East Riding.”
Your MP is unaffected by what happens in this election. This isn’t about Westminster and national party loyalty – so you’re free to vote for what you believe in.
