We're still collecting donations

On the 25th June 2020 we'd raised £71 with 6 supporters in 56 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

Who are we?

Connecting Creatives aims to promote, support and unite creatives from all backgrounds within performing arts and entertainment. I also hope to promote the benefits of a more diverse and inclusive industry. Within the project, we run a podcast which promotes theatre and entertainment (particularly in the North). We also have a writers initiative called The Blog Project. This is a fun project that allows writers getting involved in fun writing challenges and tasks which are then shared across our social media platforms. We are now producing our own work!

What is A Fool's Game about?

A Fool's Game is a world of make-believe. But it's serious business. The rule is: everyone must play. The objective is: don't get caught. The only way to end the game is to escape. As the players have their fun, the insidious power of belief makes a fool of them all, whilst an irrevocable act ensnares one character as another vanishes without a trace. There could be a way out, but will anyone think to look? And if they do, will they dare to see?

What makes your play stand out?

The project will explore the themes of identity and illusion through a laboratory style R&D and rehearsal process, throughout which we will put artists’ physical and mental welfare at the forefront; this will involve working with mindfulness, presence and play throughout the production process, so those involved can implement these techniques in both their creative work and personal life. Mental welfare within the arts is at the forefront of our company ethos.

What will the money raised go on?

Any money raised will go towards production costs for the play which will tour to venues and theatres in the North in March 2021.
