Our aims for both our cricketing offer and providing facilities to accommodate our m...
The club intends to further grow its cricket offer in 2023 and with that ensure that the facilities are welcoming and inclusive.
Moseley Ashfield Cricket Club have been at the heart of Moseley for over 120 years. In recent years they have had to endure the challenges of Covid but have continued to thrive on the field with ever increasing numbers of junior cricketers and five senior sides every weekend. Women's cricket has started to establish itself at the club and the club hope to significantly grow this area due to a local demand with a broader offer and specific training sessions to support our ladies. 2022 saw attempts through All Stars to establish girls cricket and this will be a focus of efforts in 2023. We would hope to be able to field our first girls side in 2023. Discussions with local schools and our initial foray in 2022 show a clear local demand which we hope to be able to satisfy.
In 2023 we will also provide a training base through the summer for the Warwickshire Disability squad.
The club are in a diverse area which is embraced and 2023 will see cricketers at the club with backgrounds in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, Barbados, Ireland, South Africa, Nepal to name but a few.
The club continue to try to mitigate the effects of two years of financial hardship caused by the Covid pandemic and the expansion of the cricket offer to our local community we hope will allow the club to improve its stability. In 2022 the club started a programme of works and refurbishments to satisfy changing needs post pandemic and increase the social space at the club. The club is also mindful moving forward that it needs to ensure welcoming and inclusive facilities that reflect its evolving membership and the club intend to carry on that programme of work in 2023 to ensure Moseley Ashfield CC is a true hub of the local community and meeting the demand for cricket.

The club wishes to further expand its cricket delivery in 2023 to provide bespoke womens training and expand its offer. In 2022 the club ran girls All Stars sessions and there is a clear demand in the area for expanding that girls cricket offer in 2023 and hopefully fielding our first girls teams. Crowdfunding will provide the club with the resource to run these sessions and to allow the club to continue its off field programme of improvements that started in 2022 to ensure that our facilities reflect our playing offer and are welcoming and inclusive. We are grateful to all that participated in the 2022 Crowdfunder project and we hope that it was very visible to how we utilised those monies and additional club funds to carry out extensive works in the clubhouse, toilets, decking area and replacing the clubhouse roof. The support was unbelievable and the club wish to once again extend their thanks and gratitude.
The Covid pandemic hit the club hard with a loss of bar and cricketing revenues. Aware that the club have a relatively small clubhouse compared to a lot of clubs and to counter this and make it appealing post pandemic the club carried out a large piece of work in installing a decking area next to the clubhouse. The club would like to utilise this fundraising campaign to further develop its cricket offer especially around womens and girls cricket and also support its plans to be the host club for the summer training of the Warwickshire Disability team. The expanded cricket offer will ensure the club better reflects its community, meets demand and also stabilises the clubs finances further.

The aim through this Crowdfunder campaign is to further improve the cricket offer at Moseley Ashfield CC to include increased womens cricket, the establishment of a girls side and girls specific training. The funding will allow for the provision of added cricket delivery and coaching and also allow the club to continue its programme of off field works to ensure that its facilities are welcoming and inclusive and properly cater for its membership.

Moseley Ashfield Cricket Club is a diverse club in the heart of inner city Birmingham. As well as long established senior and junior cricket, the club has extended its offer to women's cricket in recent years and also ran girls All Stars in 2022 and hopes to extend its cricket offer to girls in 2023. In 2023 the aim is to further grow the womens section with bespoke training and to progress long term from softball to add hardball cricket.
The club has been established for over 120 years and continues to grow and reflect its surroundings in the Moseley area.
