To create a permanent fixture reflecting Claudio Ranieri and Leicester's unexpected Premier League title winning season
Claudio Ranieri achieved the impossible dream. He got a quarter of a million strong football fans from our great city together to celebrate the remarkable achievement of winning the Premier League with the underdogs, the 5000-1 outsiders, the team of misfits, the jokers, the chancers. It would be inappropriate for the club to build a statue of a recently sacked manager so we want to crowd fund it. It should have happened at the end of last season, it didn't, and regardless as to how bad this season has been, a permanent acknowledgement to Claudio's achievement is the least he deserves.
He and that squad of players highlighted everything amazing about our beautiful, multicultural city. We would like to raise money to commission a respected, local artist to produce this permanent memorial to last the ages.
The commission process will be fully open and involve the entire local community.
