Help us honour our beautiful friend Sam with a lasting memorial at the club she loved.
On 15th August 2026, we heartbreakingly lost our dear friend, teammate and Alvis Netball Club legend, Sam Weston.
Anyone who knew Sam knows how much this club meant to her - and how much she meant to us all. She was always the first to the sidelines to cheer you on, the last to leave the court, and she did it all with the biggest smile. Her wit lightened our heart and the memory of her stories and infectious laugh will echo in our thoughts of her forever.
In honour of Sam's passing, and with the blessing of her family, we as her friends want to create a lasting tribute to her.
We are raising money towards:
1. A memorial bench in Sam's name.
At our potential new home of Old Coventrians Rugby Club, we would love to install a memorial bench where we can honour and remember her, whilst sitting and watching her favourite sport, and where she will always be part of our club.
2. A lasting legacy towards our new courts
Any money raised over & above the cost of the bench will go directly towards our fund to rebuild new courts for the club - helping to secure the future of the club she loved so much, for years to come.
Sam gave so much to the Alvis Netball Club. We would love to give something back in her name.
Any donation, however small, would mean the world to us and to Sam's family.
With love and thanks,
Sam's Friends - Kate Weston, Helen Evans, Trish O'Shea, Shelley Kelly and Joanne Panther

WHERE WILL THE MONEY GO?
We want to be completely open and transparent about how funds will be managed:
• 100% of donations (minus Crowdfunder's card processing fee of approx 2.9% + 30p per donation) will go directly to Alvis Netball Club's business bank account. No money will go through any individual's personal account.
• The club committee has given written approval for this fundraiser to be set up in Sam's memory.
• The bench will be purchased and installed as soon as possible in agreement with the club and Sam's family.
• Funds raised towards the new courts will be ring-fenced within the club's account for the rebuild of new courts at Old Coventrians Rugby Club, Coventry which is currently subject to planning permission.
If planning permission is not granted: In the unlikely event that planning is not approved, any funds raised for the court rebuild will remain ring-fenced and will be used for an alternative lasting legacy in Sam's name, as agreed with Sam's family and the club committee - for example, improvements, equipment. We will keep all donors fully updated.
Alvis Netball Club is a not-for-profit community sports club.
Declared Interests: To be fully transparent, some members of our fundraising group also sit on the club's committee in non-official roles, and one organiser is a member of Sam's family. To avoid any conflict of interest, all those individuals have declared their interest to the committee and will not vote on any committee decisions relating to accepting, holding or spending the funds raised from this fundraiser. No individual or family member will benefit personally from any money raised.
Thank you for your support.
