OVERFUNDING
Great effort everyone and thanks so much for contributing! Restore Pavane is now overfunding!
What will the overfunding be used for?
- A new Dinghy for Pavane. Paven's rubber boat needed for ship-shore transport seriously needs replacement.
- A new PA so Dave can give new performances (Dave gave away his Personal Music set (PA) in Cape Verde)

Sailing artist CountryDave ´s wooden boat Pavane has been damaged during a thunderstorm in Grenada. We, the friends he made en route, want to help restore Dave´s boat so he can leave port again and inspire people arround the world with his music.
CountryDave crossed the Atlantic ocean singlehanded last year with only himself and his cat Jimmy. After a long voyage he sailed into Grenada where he worked on her for a year. Whilst Pavane was neering completion a pontoon broke loose and smashed Pavane on the rocks damaging the hull and bulkheads.
Dave has shown great courage when he, although being diagnosed with prostate cancer, set sail out of the UK in 2009, intent on sailing the world and sharing his music with those he met en route. He entertained thousands of people all around the world without asking anything in return. Since he left he not only conquered his illness, but he and Pavane called into many ports, playing generously in bars and restaurants leaving smiling, happy and inspired people in his wake.
He not only shares his music but also understanding and friendship whilst he played together with local artists in the South of the UK, Spain,Portugal, Maroc, the Canary islands and for an extended period in the Cape Verde islands. Dave's music from "a life well lived" is moving, inspiring and incorporates the inspiring soul of a singlehanded sailor.
The funding needed is to provide Pavane with a haul out, replacement of the damaged bulkheads, anti fouling, new planks, paints and more items to restore the damage and restore her seamworthiness so CountryDave can set sail towards the horizon yet again.
