6th December 2024PTRC Accessibility Project December 2024 Update
Welcome to December! It has been one year since we completed Phase 1 of our club development and we are enjoying using the beautiful multi-purpose balcony as well as the equally important store rooms and downstairs toilets.
Phase 1 was funded entirely by club funds and incredibly generous donations from our members and we are proud to continue the strong community spirit within the club for our latest project.
The Senior Women's Squad hosted a successful Ceilidh night last week raising a profit of £520 from ticket sales with half going towards the clubs Accessibility Project. The excellent music, hard dancing and delicious potluck supper helped keep the bar busy and the participants happy.
We also gratefully received a grant of £2500 from Thames Water from their Community Investment Programme and would like to acknowledge one of our fundraising team members, James H-S who has spent many hours filling out grant application forms.
Our treasurer, Bill, has also had the chance to sit down and add up the various fundraiser amounts, grants and on/off line donations and we are pleased to share that we have hit the halfway mark with fundraising and our remaining target to reach is now £35,000. Thank you so much to all our members and supporters for contributing towards this uplifting milestone.

As a Club, we will be coming together one last time before the end of the year at our annual Plum Pudding Races and Presidents Wine and Cheese Party on Saturday 14th December.
The day will be enhanced by a boat naming ceremony and a visit from a Sport England representative for some community engagement and publicity.
Not only is this an opportunity for fancy dress and blazer wearing but we invite our members and supporters to come along and see our plans, ask questions and participate in making our project a success.
