Warm Conversations with Friends

Aim: We would like to offer a warm space every week for people to enjoy a hot drink, read books, watch some films or just chat and meet people.

Who are we :

We are a small charity that is running a community centre that we rescued from closing down few years ago. Since then we have worked tirelessly with dedication to make the building and the grounds a local focal point and a hub for social, recreational and educational activities. We offer advice, signposting and have been running a food bank since the covid started as well as feeding the homeless every week with cooked food donated by volunteers in our community. We also work in partnership with other groups to tackle issues in the community and provide a safe environment for difficult conversations and finding solutions. We are at the forefront of supporting our community and were the first to start a food bank in our area during Covid, first to start a warm welcome space. 

Our Team :

We are a small team made up of trustees, staff and volunteers. We mange a vast area of green space / garden that are open to the locals and their families to visit , enjoy a picnic or just stroll and see the chickens and birds on site. The centre is welcoming, private and very safe for young and old.

Our idea:

We would like to offer the centre for a Warm, Welcoming Space for locals to enjoy the grounds or relax and enjoy a book with a hot drink or watch a movie together or just chat and meet other people. Since Covid and now the financial hardship people are facing, many are struggling with depression, loneliness and anxiety. They are prone to bad health and lack of confidence in socialising, opening up about their issues. We can work in a gentle way to encourage them to come along, enjoy an activity and meet people maybe even make friend.

Our Vision:

We hope to raise funds so that we can create the right atmosphere, offer decent refreshments and activities for people to enjoy taking part in. The funds raised will ensure that we can offer the best service to people and also support them with any other problems they are facing i.e. bills, debt advice, IT access.
