We are raising funds to obtain professional planning advice to help challenge the proposed development at Grovewood Road in Haydon

We are raising funds to obtain professional planning advice to help challenge the proposed development at Grovewood Road in Haydon. This is being done on behalf of the residents of Haydon, and anyone else who wishes to support our cause. 

Our immediate priority is to secure expert assistance in preparing objections to the current planning appeal. However, there are three separate but related issues where professional advice and representation may be needed:

• The planning appeal: Challenging the suitability of the site for development, particularly at the intensity proposed.
• The Local Plan process: Submitting separate representations to challenge the proposed allocation of the land for development.
• The Conservation Area: Challenging the removal of the land from the Conservation Area and seeking to protect its heritage status in line with neighbouring parcels.

These are distinct processes, each requiring its own submissions and arguments. Funds raised through this project may be used to support any of these three related causes, depending on where professional assistance is most needed.

Our overall aim is to ensure that the suitability of this land for development is properly scrutinised, that the scale and intensity of any proposed development are challenged where justified, and that the land’s heritage significance receives the protection it deserves.

Every contribution will help us access the professional expertise needed to make informed, evidence-based representations and ensure that these important decisions are properly considered.
