Aim: We are raising funds for ground equipment to make up the deficit created by Covid-19. "Pitch” in and help "Get the Game on!"
Goose Green Cricket Club founded in 1984. We are a small community club based in Winstanley, Wigan.
Our ground is known as “Pony Dick” taken from the historic Colliery site which we have developed into our home ground.
We aim to encourage greater participation in cricket and to support our members from both a physical and social perspective. We are proud to deliver an inclusive and fun atmosphere in which to take part in this great sport.

2005 V's 2020
Our Club have always been financially self-sufficient, but the majority of our revenue is generated through match days, bar income and fundraising.
All of which in 2020 we have lost, but our fixed costs (such as Insurance, Utilities etc.) still need to be paid.
The lack of a steady income in 2020 has massively impacted our ground development project fund.
We have set a target of £12,000 broken down as an initial target of £8,000 which would enable us to purchase the Roller, and a stretched target of £12,000.
If the £12,000 target is reached it will allow us to:
What we would buy V's what we have now
The loss of income has meant that we have had to delay purchasing a much needed sit-on roller…unless we can change that through Crowdfunding!
As a club run solely by volunteers, we need to generate donations from members, families, friends and the wider community to help us cover the cost.
Any support, big or small really will mount up. Please encourage people you know to consider donating - a share on social media will enable us to reach further.
As a thank you for supporting us, we have come up with a number of rewards for you donations and pledges. We are working on other rewards and these will be added once confirmed.
We have set the Crowdfund to run for 8-weeks, which will take us “hopefully” to the start of the 2021 season.
The local community rely on the opportunities the Club offer, not just on the field but off the field too. Our non-playing membership is significant and we offer everyone the opportunity to attend Club events such as Quiz Nights and Dinners (Pre Covid-19)

Ground Development Update…
We have been resident at our current home for the last 13-years. The site was an overgrown swamp which we have developed into a fully functioning cricket club. This has been a massive project as you can see from some of the images below.
Sport England: Active Together has provided £2,400 of match funding
Crowdfund Wigan Borough Fund has provided £1,000 of match funding
This project successfully funded on 19th April 2021
