With double the money we can make double the impact!
Aim: Nathan will play a tennis match for 5 hours and 53 minutes, to fundraise for local homelessness charity Croydon Nightwatch and for SPLTC.
was a 5 hour and 53 minute epic between Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic in Australia 2012. Can our coach match it? Against a rotating cast of club champions, special guests and donors, your donations can spice up the action, keep Nathan going, or get yourself involved in the match if you are in attendance.
50% of the money raised will go towards the club's ongoing efforts to secure floodlighting provision with 50% going towards the amazing work of Croydon Nightwatch.
Nightwatch volunteers are out every night in the centre of Croydon giving food and other help to homeless and other vulnerable people. They help people at every level of homelessness, from the street homeless to those in hostels and bed and breakfast accommodation and vulnerable former homeless people who need continuing support if they are not to become homeless again.
.Floodlights at the tennis club will give us the ability to keep our tennis community going through the dark winters, which is crucial to securing the long-term future of Shirley Park LTC.
There are three simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Attend the event. Come to the club and enjoy (at least part of) the epic match, have some food off of the BBQ and donate in-person to keep the fun going.
2. If you can't attend, watch online. You will be able to watch and donate via this page on the day and with your pledge, select one of the many options to make the match as entertaining as possible!
3. Spread the word. Share the event on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get, the more fun it will be.
