Aim
Our Warm Space brings people together. We want to keep growing, and offer further support to those who need it.
Man On! Inverclyde
Man On! Inverclyde is a well-being and suicide prevention charity.
We seek to promote the advancement of mental health and relief of adults and children in Inverclyde and beyond through providing access to information, training, peer support groups, therapies and other relevant opportunities that will allow adults and children, that are affected by mental health illness to develop coping strategies, feel comfortable talking about mental health, and live fulfilled lives.
Together in Warm Spaces
Being together makes a difference in positive well-being. Here at Man On we run many services that bring our members together - to socialise, to express themselves, and to share who they are.
We've found that the rising cost of living has had a big impact on the local community and our members, and we started making changes. On top of the warm space we already welcome our members into for our Peer Support, our Social Night, and our Coffee & Chat session, we started our weekly "Heat & Eat" sessions - with fresh food, energy support (from an energy advisor), and a food pantry.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We want to extend the running of our popular "Heat & Eat" service, and the hours of our "Coffee & Chat".
We currently hold a "Heat & Eat" Session on a Wednesday, which offers our members of the local community a place to be together, enjoy food, be warm, and socialise - all whilst reducing their energy usage.
We have an Energy Advisor who supports - helping members reduce their energy bills, and find energy initiatives and funds they are entitled to. We want to extend staffing for this service until the summer (April through June).
We also run a "Coffee & Chat" Session on a Thursday morning - we will like to extend this by another two hours, giving our members more time to be together, socialise, and reduce their energy usage.
Members are invited to charge their devices (phones, tablets, laptops) whilst at our Well-Being Centre, and take the opportunity to stock up from our Food Pantry - the fund will support access to these services, as well.
