On Sept 13th, I’m cycling 54km from London to Brighton! Why 54? Because I was 54 in June - & if we're fundraising we’re doing it properly!
❤️ Last year, you helped us build a dream...
Last year, we asked people to donate to a dream.
And you did.
Together, we opened the doors to The CoHub - a resident-led community space in the heart of Hackney, bringing together support, sustainability and social innovation under one roof.
What started as an idea has become a place where people feel welcome, connected and supported every single day.
This year, we're not asking you to build it.
We're asking you to help keep it open.
🏡 What we've achieved together
With your support over the past year, The CoHub has become so much more than just a building.
Since opening we've:
💗 Supported hundreds of Hackney residents through advice, guidance and practical support.
🥫 Expanded our Food Pantry and crisis essentials programme for local families facing hardship.
👕 Opened The Community Closet Community Shop, providing clothing and essentials with dignity.
💼 Hosted the first Hackney Opportunity Fair, connecting more than 400 residents with employers, training providers and community organisations.
🤝 Delivered 20+ weekly activities, workshops, support groups and community events that bring people together.
🚨 Become Hackney's first Community Emergency Response Hub, ready to support residents when they're needed most.
Most importantly...
We've created a space where people know they're welcome.
Where they can ask for help without judgement.
Where friendships are formed, confidence grows and communities become stronger.
And we've achieved all of this with very limited funding.
⚠️ The reality
Some of the most important things we do every week still have no dedicated funding.
That includes:
☕ Connection Drop-ins reducing loneliness and isolation.
🧾 Advice & Guidance sessions helping residents navigate benefits, housing, debt and everyday challenges.
🥫 Food Pantry and essentials support for people facing financial hardship.
🌱 Community activities that improve wellbeing, confidence and connection.
These services exist because we believe they're needed.
But goodwill alone doesn't pay the bills.
🚀 What your donation will help fund
We're raising at least £5,400 to help secure Year 2 of The CoHub and move from simply surviving to becoming sustainable.
Your support will help us:
👥 Part-fund two part-time paid roles, reducing our reliance on volunteers alone.
☕ Keep our community drop-ins running consistently.
🧾 Continue providing free advice and guidance for residents in crisis.
🥫 Sustain our Food Pantry and essentials support.
🌱 Deliver unfunded activities that bring people together and improve wellbeing.
These aren't "nice extras."
They're the things people come back for.
The things that quietly change lives every single week.
🚴♀️ Why London to Brighton?
People keep asking me why I've signed up to cycle London to Brighton.
Honestly?
I didn't set out to become a cyclist.
Over the past few months, Lime Bikes became my little escape from the madness of city life. Whenever I needed to clear my head, I'd jump on one and disappear into Hackney's parks, canal paths and green spaces.
Somewhere along the way, I rediscovered something I'd forgotten since childhood.
I absolutely fell back in love with cycling.
So now I'm obviously optimistic... or slightly mad... enough to think I can cycle 54km from London to Brighton!
If I'm asking people to back Year 2 of The CoHub, then I wanted to challenge myself too.
I'll be sharing every training ride, every wobble, every milestone, every wrong turn and the occasional disaster over on TikTok as 🍈 @nonnaonalime.
Who knows... maybe this becomes The CoHub's annual fundraiser and next year you'll ride with me!
💛 How you can help
If you've ever visited The CoHub, volunteered with us, attended one of our events, received support or simply believe every community deserves a space like this...
We'd love you to be part of Year 2!
You can help by:
💷 Donating whatever you can.
📣 Sharing this campaign with friends, family and colleagues.
🚴 Sponsoring a kilometre (£100 sponsors 1km!).
🏢 If you're a business, we'd love to hear from you about sponsorship opportunities.
Every donation, every share and every conversation helps us reach more people.
💗 One final thing...
Last year, you helped us open the doors.
This year, you're helping us keep them open.
Together, we can make sure The CoHub continues to be a place where people find support, friendship, opportunity and hope.
54km.
54 years.
£5,400.
Let's ride into Year 2 together.
Thank you for believing in us.
