You helped us take Little Deaths to the stage - how about a helping us with future projects?
Hey! We're Dionne, Naomi and Jess of Hazel Wing Theatre! A new black-owned, female-led theatre company based in Manchester. We’re all about championing new writing and giving actors the space to experiment. This is the place where we can promise that ideas can grow without fear, where creativity meets support and every story has a chance to be heard. From first drafts to fully staged productions, we’re here to back bold ideas and encourage risk-taking. The arts are incredibly important for so many reasons, but this piece has themes which will speak to many people of all ages, which is another reason why we believe that stories must be told.
We are preparing for our newest project, 'Little Deaths' by Isabelle Palmer. We've decided to take it on a tour so more people have access to new writing! You have helped us do that!
'Little Deaths' is a new play exploring coercive control, written from real experience, and created to help people recognise the signs before it's too late. Isabelle Palmer is a recent graduate of the Manchester School of Theatre and a phenomenal writer!
My aim for Little Deaths is not only to raise awareness of Emotional Abuse and Coercive Control, but highlight their commonality, that this toxic behaviour can be installed in boys from a very young age and it’s essential we continue to treat this form of abuse seriously, help people, especially young girls, recognise the signs for themselves and also for their friends.'
To take plays like this from page to stage, we truly do need the support of the audiences. If you feel like donating anything, please do! No amount is too little
Thank you!
